ธรรมศาสตร์ ยกเลิก TU STAR แต่คะแนนใช้สมัครเรียนได้ 2 ปี
ในที่ประชุม ทปอ. ได้หารือกันว่าจะมีการเดินสายชี้แจงทำความเข้าใจ ในระบบการคัดเลือกใหม่รวมถึงขั้นตอนและวิธีการปฏิบัติพร้อมรับฟังข้อเสนอแนะข้อคิดเห็นของผู้มีส่วนเกี่ยวข้องในทุกกลุ่มเป้าหมายใน 4 ภูมิภาค ดังนี้ ครั้งที่ 1 วันที่ 28 พ.ค.60 ที่มหาวิทยาลัยเชียงใหม่ (มช.), ครั้งที่ 2 วันที่ 12 มิ.ย.60 ที่มหาวิทยาลัยสงขลานครินทร์ (มอ.), ครั้งที่ 3 วันที่ 16 มิ.ย.60 ที่มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น (มข.) และครั้งที่ 4 วันที่ 13 ก.ค.60 ที่มหาวิทยาลัยศรีนครินทรวิโรฒ (มศว)
ศ.ดร.สมคิด เลิศไพฑูรย์ อธิการบดี มหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ (มธ.) กล่าวว่า สำหรับการสอบ TU STAR ซึ่ง มธ.เปิดโอกาสให้นักเรียนได้สอบเก็บคะแนนเพื่อเตรียมพร้อมในการเข้าเรียนใน มธ.จัดสอบปีละ 8 ครั้ง ซึ่งในปีการศึกษา 2560 เหลือการสอบอีก 2 ครั้งนั้น ทาง มธ.ยืนยันที่จะจัดสอบให้ครบตามที่สัญญากับนักเรียนไว้แต่หลังจากมีการปรับใช้กระบวนการคัดเลือกบุคคลเข้าศึกษาในสถาบันอุดมศึกษารูปแบบใหม่ ในปีการศึกษา 2561 แล้ว มธ.ก็จะยกเลิกการสอบ TU STAR และใช้ระบบการคัดเลือกรูปแบบใหม่เช่นเดียวกับมหาวิทยาลัยในกลุ่ม ทปอ.
ทั้งนี้ นักเรียนที่สอบ TU STAR กับทาง มธ.ไปแล้วยังสามารถนำคะแนนดังกล่าวใช้ในการคัดเลือกเข้าเรียนต่อใน มธ.ได้เป็นเวลา 2 ปี ( ก็คือ ปี 61 เป็นปีสุดท้าย )
