เทคนิคการแพทย์เรียนเกี่ยวกับอะไร? นทพ.หรือนักเทคนิคการแพทย์ คือบุคลากรทางการแพทย์ ที่ทำหน้าที่อยู่ภายในห้องปฏิบัติการ หรือห้องแล็ปของโรงพยาบาล โดยนำสิ่งส่งตรวจจากคนไข้ เช่น เลือด รวมถึงน้ำเจาะไขสันหลังด้วย และใช้เทคโนโลยีทางการแพทย์ในการวิเคราะห์หาความผิดปกติ เพื่อนำผลการวิเคราะห์ (พวกตรวจเลือด ไขมัน น้ำตาล นั้นแหละ) ไปใช้ประโยชน์ในการประเมินสุขภาพ การวินิจฉัยโลก รวมถึงการทำนายความรุนแรงของโรคและความผิดปกติของร่างกาย โดยการเรียนปี 1-2 จะเป็นการเรียนวิ่ทยาศาสตร์พื้นฐานทั่วไป เพราะเราจะจบวุฒิ วิทยาศาสตร์บัณฑิต ในช่วงนี้ก็จะมีวิชาให้เลือก ให้เรียนหาความรู้ตามที่เราต้องการไปก่อน ปี 3-4 ก็เข้าสู่วิชาชีพแล้ว ในช่วงนี้ก็จะทำให้ทราบว่า นักเทคนิคการแพทย์นี้เหมาะสมกับตัวเราเองหรือเปล่า โดยวิชาเฉพาะที่เรียนประกอบไปด้วย
1. โลหิตวิทยา (hematology) 2. เคมีคลีนิค (clinical chemistry) 3. ภูมิคุ้มกันวิทยา (immunology)
4. ตรวจสารน้ำในร่างกาย (body fluid) 5. ธนาคารเลือด(blood bank) 6. แบคทีเรีย (clinical bacteria)
7. ปรสิตวิทยา (clinical parasite) 8. ไวรัสวิทยา (Virology) 9.ฝึกงานตามโรงพยาบาลต่าง ๆ
งานหลักของนักเทคนิคการแพทย์ คือ ค้นหาโรคของผู้ป่วย ดังนั้นสถานที่ทำงานจึงเป็นโรงพยาบาลทั้งในประเทศและต่างประเทศ
ซึ่งเป็นตำแหน่งที่ทุกโรงพยาบาลขาดแคลน และต้องการตัวเป็นอย่างมาก เพราะประเทศไทยมีเพียง 13 แห่ง เท่านั้น ที่เปิดสอนเทคนิคการแพทย์
รายได้ของนักเทคนิคการแพทย์ (จบใหม่) นักเทคนิคการแพทย์ทำงานอะไรได้บ้าง? ขอแบ่งเป็นข้อ ๆ ดังนี้
- ทำงานในห้องแล็ป รพ.ตรงนี้เงินเดือน 15,000 บาท + ค่าใบประกอบวิชาชีพ + ค่าขึ้นเวร (รวมแล้วประมาณ 25,000- 30,000 บาท
- ห้องแล็ป รพ.เอกชน เหมือนกับโรงเพยาบาบรัฐบาล เพียงแต่ฐานเงินเดือนและค่าตอบแทนจะสูงกว่า
- Product specialist ผู้คอยให้ความรู้ นำเทคโนโลยีใหม่ ๆ ไปเสนอให้กับผู้ประกอบการวิชาชีพ ในโรงพยาบาล
- เปิดคลีนิคตรวจแล็ปของตัวเอง
โควตารับตรงคณะเทคนิคการแพทย์ เหมาะสำหรับ
- ผู้ที่จบ ม.6 สายวิทย์-คณิต – ผู้ที่ต้องการเรียนสายวิทยาศาสตร์สุขภาพ แต่ไม่มั่นใจว่าจะสอบติดหรือไม่
- ผู้ที่ต้องการมีงานทำแน่นอนหลังเรียนจบ และค่าใช้จ่ายในการเรียนไม่สูงมากนัก

คุณสมบัติ – วุฒิ ม.6 สายวิทย์-คณิต – เกรดเฉลี่ย 2.0 ขึ้นไป มีการสอบปรับพื้นฐานให้ก่อนเข้าเรียน
- สูง 150 cm. ขึ้นไป – น้ำหนักเหมาะสมกับส่วนสูง
ค่าใช้จ่าย – ค่าสมัคร 500 บาท – ค่าใช้จ่ายแรกเข้ารวมค่าเรียนปรับพื้นฐาน 23,000 บาท (ผ่อนชำระได้)
- ค่าเทอมเหมาจ่าย 60,000 บาท/เทอม กู้ยืม กยศ. กรอ.ได้ 45,000 บาท นักศึกษาชำระเอง 15,000 บาท ผ่อนชำระได้
